Tracking bug for localizing Get Involved page into zh-TW.
Component: zh-TW / Chinese (Traditional) → L10N
Product: Mozilla Localizations → www.mozilla.org
Locale: zh-TW / Chinese (Traditional)
OS: Linux → All
Hardware: x86 → All
Peter, I added a folder to your svn repo called emails, it contains automatic responses needing translation that will be sent to people contacting us via the form on the page.
contribute.lang is updated with the newly added paragraphs, please svn update your local copy, thanks.

File updated, the strings might still need some polish, though.

I think some strings were not reflected, was the dev stage
https://www-dev.allizom.org/b/zh-TW/contribute/ ?
Flags: needinfo?
if you are speaking about the strings in the selector (areas of interest), yes it's a known bug that should be fixed in the weeks to come.
Flags: needinfo?
I think the current contribute.lang has lost sync from the English test, how can we get it updated?
I have updated the lang files to pick the latest strings
Peter,

Any update on this?

Got updated contents in comment 6 localized, but still needs some polishing.

Is there any milestone/deadline to catch on?
(In reply to Peter Pin-Guang Chen [:petercpg] (MozTW.org) from comment #8)
> Is there any milestone/deadline to catch on?

There is no hard deadline. We are going to be rolling out locales slowly over the first quarter so we can make you live whenever you are ready.

One thing to ensure if that you are structurally ready to handle the emails that will start coming in once it is live.

Yes I believe we are.

I'll take care of these emails,
as we do before for recruit on events and local sites.
Works done, r112291.
The video is already subtitled at http://www.amara.org/en/videos/NNxEqfuQSaPN/zh-tw/19566/

A question, I've noticed that some email responses ask the recipients to reply to the respective senders, but since these messages are localized, could the teams deal with the replies in different language since we didn't ask the new contributors to reply in English in the response or website?
(or the reply-to address would change to the local communities after the localized site is live?)

Also the string "I’m okay with you handling this info as you explain in your Privacy Policy" still displays in English from my side.
Brian,

Any update on when will this form going live?

This week I plan to push a couple of locales live and will include zh-TW in the batch.

Yes. Firstly, you need to provide me with an email address where the form emails will go to. This can be an individual address or an alias. Then your community has to figure out how to handle the emails.

You can change the text of the email responses. For example, es completely changed the text for Spanish, so links are in Spanish pointing to Mozilla Hispano wiki and emails are signed by the people in charge of each area at the community.

Nukeador describes their work flow here, it might provide you with some guidance:

It seems to be ok now?

Ah, I see. For now please point the email alias contribute@mail.moztw.org, Irvin and me will receive the requests in the beginning. We'll ask those who take care of each projects to update the email responses with localized information and have requests forwarded to them later (should be in no more than a month).

Bug 795304 : Email for zh-TW contribute form
Hi Brian and everyone, nice to know you. :) I have an issue on the question you discussed: Since Mozilla has Taipei office, I don't think it makes sense the new volunteer email goes only to personal email. Would it be better the email goes to somewhere both the Mozilla Taipei office & community can both see?
Natasha, No It doesn't going to "personal email".

contribute@moztw.org is a team alias include Taiwan community liaison, l10n owner and local SUMO/MDN project owner.

If you would like to propose another project owner to join, please file another bug for that, and CCs to me, I'll happy to assist you.

Can badrock support multiple e-mail setting like

'zh-TW': ['contribute@mail.moztw.org', 'tw-mkt@mozilla.com'],

?

Or, alternatively, can MozTW set-up forwarding to a MoCo-TW e-mail, or vice versa?

(this discussion should be in another bug)
I don't believe it's right behavior that contribute form should go to different email directly, and cause the sign-up to receive different response from different side.

As I said before, we already have organized a email alias for contribute@moztw.org, including current community liaison and local owners of each projects (l10n/MDN/SUMO/GoodFirstBug/Reps/NeMo/Mozilla Links/community site/MozCafe and what so ever we'd got).

If anyone from local company want to joining the contact roll/ monitor the contact process, or have a new project needed some volunteer, you can specific what project/which domain of volunteer you'll need, and file a separate bug, we can easily add the one in charge into the contribute mail roll in seconds, and prevent the problem of two welcome mail for one sign-up volunteer.

Not at the moment, and it is probably not a good idea for the reasons Irvin mention.

Note that all inquiries go to contribute@mozilla.org in addition to the specific contact for a given funnel and funnel owners are welcome to subscribe to that list to see everything if they want.
Changes are live in prod.

pmac, could you confirm the URL for this? I'm getting sent to the EN version of the page when I go to

Me too. Looke like I RESOLVED prematurely. The changes from the PR that mentioned this bug are live. Looks like the zh-TW contribute.lang file still needs to be activated to enable the page for real. Reopening.

Yes, I still need to push this live and will do so very soon.
I can push live now if you wish.

I just tested the form and found 2 strings in English.

1. If you try and submit the form without checking the privacy checkbox, a small tooltip like bubble appear by the checkbox.

2. The auto-response when I chose Add-ons. The subject line is English, but the rest of the email is in Chinese. I'm not sure if this is the case for all categories.

WFM at my side, I got this tooltip localized?

+1, the title should be localizable imo.

Also I found that the video is slightly different from the one we have at amara, are we going to have the subtitle localized?
> +1, the title should be localizable imo.

Agreed. We should open a separate bug for that. Right now the subject line is hard coded in the script for the form. Maybe we can move the subject line into the SVN repo for each locale somehow? Note that we'd need to coordinate with Metrics on that since they're using the subject line info for stats gathering I believe.
