Don't know if it's really evangelism. They check for Mozilla in
http://www.ibiblio.org/peanut/secret.js and use document.getElementById().
However, the homepage of the script author at http://www.bratta.com/dhtml
says "The new version of eXperience DHTML will soon be up and that version will
work in Netscape 5".
Marking NEW.

Could someone track down what causes the menus to now show up on this page? Any
help would be greatly appreciated.

here is another site where it occurs
http://www.kube93.com/
hover over the grey 'music' button.... something should come up...
Johnny,
Looking at the mentioned websites looks like there is one common problem i.e.
they both use <DIV> </DIV> tags. These tags are identified and are displayed
correctly in Communicator 4.x and also in IE. If you need any further help let
me know.
Hi Girish,
a smaller version of the script and html of the menu (testcase) would really
help us, this way we could find the problem more easily. For your information,
Mozilla supports <div> tags, like other browsers, but it's often the way they
are used in javascripts that make us fail.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Fabian.
Using <DIV> </DIV> tags is ok, they're supported by mozilla, there's something
else that's causing problems here...
http://www.deakin.edu.au/~agoodman/scc219/dhtml/Example9.html

here is a very small example as u asked.... if u want i can
continue looking for something even smaller... the could
looks pretty small tho
- hovering over links should popup something...
Based on the above testcase, I'm afraid I'll have to send this over to the
evangelism team.
The code begins with
if(document.layers) ....
if(document.all) ....
and they base all their code on that.
I ask the evangelism folks to set this at a quite high priority because it is a
reusable script, and those tend to be used by a lot of people :-(
In any case, thanks for the testcase!
(Evang folks: if this is really a DOM bug please send it back here asap, nobody
is perfect ;-)

Well, the menu does not work with Mozilla but it doesn't work with IE6 either :-)
true, but in the other two sites i mentioned:

http://www.kube93.com
http://www.deakin.edu.au/~agoodman/scc219/dhtml/Example9.html

it does work with ie6

The Peanut site uses CoolMenus 1.0 from 1999. The current version at
dhtmlcentral.com is 4.0 and works in all Mozilla releases (but has bugs in KHTML
which is funny since PeanutLinux defaults to KDE, dogfood anyone?).

p.s. Nehal, this bug is for ibiblio. If those other sites don't work, they
should have their own evangelism bugs.

Frankie: yeh sorry :) it's just that at the time i reported the bug, if i
reported a seperate bug for each site on this issue, i would literally have had
to report dozens and dozens of bugs (there were many site with this problem and
i'm sure reporting all would have just annoyed many people :-/ ), i just
reported one because i thought they would be related (anyways one of those sites
has changed and now works w/mozilla)

but next time i'll make multiple bug reports if need be

and yes this bug report is quite old (i dont even use peanut anymore), i guess
it can be closed as INVALID (obsolete) or something... i doubt it will be fixed
anyways... and also, as Pascal said it doesn't even work with ie6
