+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #795972 +++ NSS 3.14 contains a change wherein all MD5 signatures will fail to validate by default. This may affect Thunderbird and Firefox because the it may cause security.enable_md5_signatures=true to stop working. In Firefox, we allow MD5 signatures to be accepted for SSL via the cert error page, even when security.enable_md5_signatures=false. But, that doesn't apply to other types of certificate validations (e.g. S/MIME, extension signing).

PSM always enables/disables MD5 signature verification appropriately during initialization.
