I am aiming to produce a new installer that works out of the box on windows to demo boot2gecko for windows developers. I have the latest gaia and nightly b2g from 2012-07-26. However the latest code is a significant regression from 2012-07-14. The portable installer is available from https://github.com/downloads/sihorton/b2g-desktop-profile-installer/b2g-portable-unstable.exe.

By going to the homescreen and then pressing on applications I have the following problems:-

1) FM Radio - Mozilla Crash Reporter opens and the client exits
2) Calendar - Crash Reporter says The application didn't leave an application data file so it cannot submit a report. client exits.
3) Video - a totally black screen is displayed (I guess this might be because there are no media files?). Possible to return to homescreen using [home]
4) Camera - unable to exit, it does show the animation to close but does not return to homescreen
5) Calculator - Crash Reporter says The application didn't leave an application data file so it cannot submit a report. client exits.
6) Template - Crash Reporter says The application didn't leave an application data file so it cannot submit a report. client exits.
7) PenguinPop - Crash Reporter says The application didn't leave an application data file so it cannot submit a report. client exits.
8) CrystalSkull - Crash Reporter says The application didn't leave an application data file so it cannot submit a report. client exits.
9) Cut The Rope - Unable to return to homescreen
10) Browser - Crash Reporter says The application didn't leave an application data file so it cannot submit a report. client exits.
11) TowerJelly - Crash Reporter says The application didn't leave an application data file so it cannot submit a report. client exits.
12) Tasks - Crash Reporter says The application didn't leave an application data file so it cannot submit a report. client exits.
13) CubeVid - Crash Reporter says The application didn't leave an application data file so it cannot submit a report. client exits.
14) Dev Marketplace - Crash Reporter says The application didn't leave an application data file so it cannot submit a report. client exits. 

unlock to the camera app has the same problem as 4.

Not sure if you will like me posting all of these problems in one bug but it represents the things that need to be fixed so that we can get a stable b2g-desktop demo working.

Can you try using the 25th build instead?  Is that possible?  I think there might have been a build issue with the 26th build...

@sihorton  do you mind creating a bugzilla bug to track this?  All the desktop b2G build issues have been getting filed in Bugzilla > Boot 2 Gecko :: General.

I have tested with nightly from: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/b2g/nightly/2012-07-25-03-02-06-mozilla-central/
This has the same crashes and pressing [home] does not return to the homescreen.
