When there's no battery, gaia shows that either it is charging or that it is very low. There should be a distinct battery indicator for it being missing, perhaps with a slash through the icon or something.

First we need a icon for this. @jcarpenter @PeterLa can you help me on that?

Never mind, I found a question mark battery icon from @PeterLa's design.

OK. There are two issues here:

One issue being the fact that we are not implement the distinction between "No battery" and "Device is plugged in and fully charged" at the API level. This is by design and documented in Battery API spec.

The other being the fact that battery API status on Otoro does reflect the values for "No battery" and "Device is plugged in and fully charged" as denoted in Battery API spec, and report level = 0.

Filed a bug for that. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=779016

@timdream Just let myself and @PeterLa know if you need anything else.

Is it really blocking? This is likely a gecko issue with the gonk backend of the battery API and also it's not really something user will always do..

There's both a minus and a plus on this bug for the basecamp specification. What's the resolution here?

Not blocking, edge case.

de-assign myself since this is basecamp-
Tim, I think I should improve this icon at some point to be a battery with a slash through it. The battery with the ? was originally meant to be 'unknown battery type'. Do we have such a state in our system? Will attach a new image within the next day or two.
