STR:
1. Press the power button while the phone is on
2. A menu appears

Actual result: there is a "Restart" option
Expected result: no "Restart" option

This option is useless for real users it might be useful for developers but that shouldn't stay. Can't we have a magic key combination to restart like power + home buttons for 5 seconds?

Hi there,

Just a heads up: @erikziegler  is currently on holidays.

And IMHO it shouldn't be removed, as 99% of the times I power off my personal mobile is to do a restart. I just power it off when flying.

Why do you restart your phone? I don't think any users have good reasons to restart their phones.
Only people working on it want to restart it.

This said, we can have a special key combination to restart the phone as said in the bug report.

Usually because something goes wrong... or the phone gets too slow. I must confess that since I have the iPhone it has been quite a lot less times than when I had the HTC phone.

Also some times the carrier request a restart to guarantee that changes in roaming activation takes place (guess is something about re-registering in the network)

Again, that's just my opinion...

I must say I agree with @dseixas. I never poweroff my iPhone nor Macbook, restart is something I do to combat slowness.

However I do agree removing 'restart' is better and makes UI simpler. I do not want to see a phone with a sad Power menu like the one on Windows Visa that tried to fit every use case and fail on every one of them.
