Details

(Whiteboard: [blocking-webrtandroid1-])

Nightly 18.0a1 2012-10-01
Device: Asus Transformer TF101
OS: Android 4.0.3

Steps to reproduce:
1. Install a web-app (Ex. solitaire)
2. Go to Apps through the options overflow menu
3. Log tap on the web-app installed for the context menu to appear.
4. Select the Add to Home Screen option.
5. Check the Home Screen.

Expected results:
A toast notification should appear indicating that the web-app shortcut already exists. Only one shortcut is present on the Home Screen.

Actual results:
No notification appears after step 4, going to the home-screen there are to shortcuts present for the same web-app.

Note:
When trying to create another shortcut in the same way as described on steps 3-4 a "Shortcut 'web-app name' already exists" notification appears.
This makes me think the shortcut intent used for the initial install is not _exactly_ the same as the one created using the "Add to Home Screen" action. The intents must be exactly the same to be considered duplicates by Android.

Priority: -- → P3
The runtime no longer creates homescreen shortcuts, so this shouldn't be an issue anymore.
