When an update is ready (downloaded but not installed), the user should be able to check if a new update is available

Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:17.0) Gecko/17.0 Firefox/17.0
Build ID: 20121002042010
Steps to reproduce:
When an update is ready (downloaded but not installed), the only action available to the user is to apply this update. However sometimes, we don't want to install the update right away.
But when we use Aurora, there is a new update nearly every day, so I'd like to be able to check and download a new update instead of installing the old update that is already downloaded.
Now, the only way to do this is:
1 - go to "help / about" and click on "restart"
2 - restart to install the old update
3 - go to "help / about" again
4 - check if there is a new update (there is)
5 - download the new update
6 - restart to apply the new update
Would be better to start at step 3.

I am fairly certain that app update already has the code entry points that makes it possible to do this in the Firefox about dialog UI so moving to the appropriate component.

Robert, I remembered this bug when reading bug 831701 comment 17 ;)
Do you know who could be CCed here so that this bug would be fixed ?

At this time no one is available. The value of fixing this bug compared to metro and other ongoing work is not important enough to take resources from other work. Specifically, most users don't get updates so often that cancelling the current update is valuable with the exception being users of builds that receive updates everyday as I stated in the B2G version of this bug. Whereas there are a ton of bugs that do affect a much larger percentage of our users.
