Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:18.0) Gecko/18.0 Firefox/18.0 Build ID: 20121002030526 Steps to reproduce: I ran the Google Octane benchmark with 2 different firefox 15.0.1 binaries under Linux: - the binary provided by firefox.com and compiled with gcc 4.5.2 - the binary provided by canonical.com in (the yet unreleased) Ubuntu 12.10 and compiled with gcc 4.7.2 Actual results: The binary compiled with gcc 4.7.2 is measurably faster. Expected results: It would be nice if binaries provided by Mozilla were faster. So could you please compile firefox beta, aurora and/or nightly with gcc 4.7.2 ?

Found in triage. Laurent; sorry for the delayed response. I think this is already done - we upgraded to gcc 4.7.2 in bug#878200. If there's anything I missed, please reopen this bug with details, ok?
