We let users opt in to receiving updates from us but we don't have a way of getting the list back out. I put a query in bug 797916 for what we are looking for. This bug is to put a button somewhere in the admin panel (might be a new page) which when clicked will export a text file of email addresses, one email per line. The export should be protected by a new group called "Engagement" with permissions "MailingLists:View"
Tentatively giving to Allen (and CCing andym) since he is creating the new admin panel. This would probably be a good candidate since it's simple.

Will - what's the plan to send to these addresses after they've been exported?

I think the best case scenario here would be to integrate the apps email with our email engagement app - ExactTarget. It would be great if we could avoid passing email addresses along as text files - especially as this program begins to scale.

There is no plan past exporting a text file - responsibility would transfer to whoever downloaded the file. If more needs to be done we'll need to get a spec about what needs to be done. I've never done anything with ExactTarget.
Hi guys - From a privacy perspective, I'd like to see this integrated with Exact Target (i.e. stored in their data base so the list pull comes from them.) We will be certifying for Safe Harbor next year, and it's super important that we can manage the opt-outs effectively, and that we don't have data in multiple locations. Can we get together and talk through this?
Hey Team,

I wanted to jump in here to say that there is an "APPS_DEV_FLG" in Exact Target that could be the flag that's turned to Y when someone checks the box upon app submission.

It would be the same effect as signing up for the Apps Dev newsletter here:
