1-click app to launch
2-App crashes to start menu after 2s on Firefox's blue logo, 
3-no error MSG and app doesn't even close. 
4-Can go back to app via top corner click, but goes back to 2-

and tell me if there are a couple files there? If so, would you mind zipping them up and emailing them to my mozilla email account? ([e-mail])

No files in that folder....
but there is one here
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\MetroFirefox\Crash Reports
the file name is InstallTime20121003040204 and has 1kb and the only info in there is a few numbers...
the numbers are:
1349391186

Can you go to Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Event Viewer -> Windows Logs -> Application and check there for recent errors. Please post what the error messages say related firefox.

This is what solved this issue for me. I had Mozilla Firefox installed along with the Nightly Build. 

1) Open Uninstall Programs
2) Uninstall Mozilla Firefox
3) Start Nightly from Start Screen
3) A Window opens up and asks if you want to set it as default browser
4) Choose Yes
5) Close Nightly
6) Start Nightly again from Start Screen
7) The Metro App opens up this time instead of Window.

i got no mozilla firefox installation on my pc.
also my issue is not with clicking metro and then it opens in desktop, the issue is that it just crash to start screen after launching it.
