“Pin tab” in the tab bar and thumbnail-website pinning on about:newtab should have different names (having same name is confusing).

The "pin tab" selection which appears in the context menu when right clicking onto the header of an opened tab, and "the pin tab" symbol which can be selected in the about:newtab window inside the thumbnails are 2 different functions- using the same nameing can get the user confused.
My suggestions would be to rename the pin functionality inside thumbnails into "lock" or "unluck thumbnail" "onto its position". "Freeze" or "unfreeze" thumbnail "on this position", "from this position".

"fix on this position" "unfix from this position". or simply "fix thumbnail" and "unfix thumbnail".

Just ideas and suggestions. Others may have other designations in mind. But "pin" can get you confused that was my own experience.
Summary: pin tab in an opened tab and pin tab(freeze thumbnail) in the about:newtab window is not the same(this can get you confused) → The pin tab option in the context menu of the header of an opened tab and the pin tab function selectable inside thumbnails in the about:newtab window are not the same
