Details
From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux 2.4.4 i686; en-US; rv:0.9) Gecko/20010505 BuildID: 2001050521 Mozilla 0.9 can download automatically mail messages, but after downloading them it does not close the "downloading session" currently active unless the user is present and using the computer (moving the mouse is enough to stop the downloading session) I have confirmed this because i expect email every 5 mins and after i got the session to stop and get email manually there is always new email in. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Let mozilla get email (DONT use in any way the computer) 2.The bar on the bottom left keeps spinning 3.Move the mouse in the mail window to stop it Actual Results: Bar keeps spinning and i have to mouse the mouse to make it stop Expected Results: Mozilla 0.9 should stop the downloading session after the email is downloaded.

Seems this bug is giving you trouble Update about this bug: you can actively use your computer and mozilla will still get stuck downloading mail. Only when you move the mouse around the mozilla mail windows (and having it active!) the mail downloading session is closed Francisco León (original poster of this bug)

buildid: 2001051305 on linux I am not seeing any problem with the progress bar and the netscape throbber spinning after the download of message. I did have the biff interval set to 5 minutes and the message was downloaded and after the download was complete both the progess bar and the netscape icon visuals did stop. worksforme.

How convenient. Works for you, but my bug report was made on 0.9 release (2001050521) and you are using may 13th's night release. I don't really like using night releases, but if you confirm me that your release is stable maybe i will try it

I was not able to reproduce this problem on both 2001051405 and 2001051508 builds. You can download the above builds and try it. If you still see it please give me the reproducible steps. I have 2 pop accounts in a profile. I had biff intervals set to 5 minutes and auto download messages pref is checked. Check mail for new mail at start up is checked. -I launch the browser -launch mail from tasks menu -send a mail -wait 5 minutes for the biff to go off -results: downloaded mail and there was no connection open after that one message download. I did not see any action with the netscape icon and the progress bar spinning even after the download.

I downloaded the latest build and already found a new bug I had the browser and the mail client checked for start, and when both are checked only mail starts, so now i have to uncheck mail if i want a browser window to open. Geez! About our little problem, i think it remains there. 2 things you may not be considering: 1.-I am using pop accounts, not local 2.-Remember, you cant move the mouse when you have the mail window active, or you wont notice the bug. Mouse activity in the mail window makes the blue moving bar stop.Start the mail client and run any other program in a window, and stay in that new program's window and watch when the mail client tries to get the new mail

Bug is still there, to my opinion More info: i left the mail window open, and started another program and i kept the mouse cursor into the new program's window. Went out a while and when i came back the blue bar was spinning. As soon as i moved the mouse cursor inside the mail window the bar stopped and then showed: Document: done (1046.46 seconds) 2001051508 crashes a lot, and i dont get the talkback manager in order to report the crashes. (Yes, i installed it)

buildid: 2001051721 on linux. I saw this when I created a new profile and created a new pop account. I downloaded all the mail. Exit application and launched browser and mail application. I had start page displayed in the message pane and there were no more new messages to download for this account. I did see the progress bar spinning and the throbber activity. My console had 'you have no mail'. But I could not reproduce this again when I did the same exact thing. See bug 67989. I don't think this has to do with auto download of mail.

This problem is not always reproducible as i though. But it happens over 75% of the time. The bar keeps spinning (as long as you DONT move the mouse inside the mail client window-important!) and when you mouse the mouse it displays "document: done" with a very high second number Happens in all builds. I use pop mail and no start page.

This should not be hard to fix Just check the routine or function that downloads the mail, and as soon as the last mail comes in, kill the downloading section At least it sounds easy on paper, maybe the implementation is not that easy

marking nsbeta1-. It sounds like this is pretty rare and has a good workaround(move the mouse). If we start noticing more bugs about this, then let's reconsider.

Changing severity to normal. It isn't really a major bug, but's a bug indeed. Hoping you could get this done by 0.9.2

What is being done to fix this bug? This is really one of the most annoying bugs in mozilla to me. I know it's hard to fix because it does not show always, but happens most of the time
