Expected results:

If you right-click on a buddy in your chat-buddy list, there is lacking a button to add that buddy to an existing contact in your addressbook

This is something that would be useful, yes. It's more work than just adding a button or context menu item, as after you have done that, you need some kind of UI to select which address book contact you intend to add the chat buddy to. There are also possible complications in the case where the address book card already has a value in the field of that chat network (should we overwrite the existing value?).

Note: There's "severity: enhancement" to identify enhancement requests, you don't have to put "[REQUEST]" in the summary.
