The only thing I think of that makes sense is that it is advising you that you have no contacts found for the other alpha listings, but still confusing IMO.

I thnk is a problem related to not finding contacts when searching. Could you confirm the STR? I can't reproduce it.

from a UX perspective this needs addressing before launch as displaying 'no contacts found' in the contact list when the contact list is clearly populated with contacts will be confusing to the end user.  They will interpret this the system being 'broken' and undermine their trust in the robustness of our product.

Just to note that I'm about to finishing a major reimplementation of contact Search to solve performance problems reported in bug 816742. Nonetheless I cannot fully understand what this bug is.

I wasn't searching when I hit this bug, this is how contact looked when I launched the app. I haven't seen this bug since the time I filed it so it might be we can resolve it as WFM and reopen if it is seen again.
