User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:16.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/16.0 Build ID: 20121010144125 Steps to reproduce: When I updated Lightning with my Thunderbird update, I suddenly found out that I could not create events of different time durations because of the new feature of having to set the "default event length". I tried setting the default event length to different settings but could only have events of that duration. Actual results: I can only create events of the same time duration as the "default event length". Expected results: I should be able to create events of different time lengths regardless of the "default event length" setting.

Sounds like you enabled the 'Keep Duration' feature. Click the 'Keep Duration' button that is displayed next to start and end time controls to enable or disable this feature.
