Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:16.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/16.0 Build ID: 20121010144125 Steps to reproduce: I read an issue on a Dutch site (Tweakers.net) about Speedtest.net. The performance of Firefox is far worse than that of IE. A user mentioned to have a connection speed of 160 mbps and with IE on Speedtest.net the result was fine. With Firefox however the result never passed ca. 50 mbps. He contacted Speedtest.net about this and he got this answer: " This is an issue with Firefox that prevents multiple streams of information to be transferred during a test and it only affects customers such as yourself from achieve accurate high speed test. We do apologize for this inconvenience and we recommend that you test using a different web browser. Thank you for your time and patience. Best Regards, Speedtest.net Support " I did a test myself and there is a difference in Ping times: 15ms for FF and 5ms for IE9. I did this multiple times. The 50 mpbs "boundary" is not an issue because that is exactly my max. speed. Actual results: * Slow reported download speed with high speed connections (max. = ca. 50 mbps), IE is fine. * Worse ping than IE Expected results: I expected no problems.
