Details

The "certutil" program should be enhanced to allow a user to right-click on a file to sign a file. The steps would look something like: -right-click on the file to be signed -a pop-up called "Digitally Sign" (or something similar) appears -the user selects this option -the system asks the user which cert to use for signing, and the user makes a selection -the user types his/her password -the system creates a signature file next to the file selected in the first step
I meant "signtool", not "certool".
Excellent idea. Alternatively, make it a "drop-in" - drop a file onto the signtool icon and a signature is created.
Yes, it should support drag-and-drop as well. Good point.

"Future" target implies P4.
Priority: -- → P4
Are we talking about adding a GUI for signtool here ? Is this really something we want to do ? I would recommend closing WONTFIX .

A Windows GUI is not a priority for NSS command-line tools . We should not add one to signtool .
