User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.0; rv:10.0.9) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/10.0.9 Build ID: 20121011153109 Steps to reproduce: When updating Firefox to a security release or chemspill version, on first-run it does the addon compatibility check. This can take several seconds depending on how many addons are installed, and increases update annoyance/anxiety. In rare cases when Firefox has to have multiple chemspill releases back-to-back, this becomes especially noticeable. To streamline updates, this step should be skipped for minor updates, security patches/chemspills unless the previously installed version was from an older major version. Security updates have never broken extensions or even themes (with the exception of 3.6.4) to my knowledge. It is also standard practice for authors to specify the version compatibility as X.* with the wildcard ignoring security updates.

I hope that this will be fixed soon... It's really irritating.
Since bug 1353194 I don't believe this is an issue
