Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:19.0) Gecko/19.0 Firefox/19.0
Build ID: 20121012030610
Steps to reproduce:
I'm running an Ubuntu Linux 12.04 x86_64 system.
I downloaded nightly from ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/nightly/latest-trunk/ (the tar.bz2 file) a week ago.
1.- I uncompressed it and rename the 'firefox' dir to 'firefox64'
2.- I move it to $HOME/.bin
3.- I made a link from /usr/local/bin/firefox -> $HOME/.bin/firefox64/firefox
4.- I use it
5.- When a new nightly shows up, firefox download it (26MB)
6.- Ask to restart, so I restart
7.- Fail with the following msg
> The Update could not be installed (patch apply failed)
Permitions in the $HOME/.bin/firefox64/firefox dir are as follows:

I'll be happy to provide more details to help address this issue
