Description

User Agent: Opera/9.80 (Windows NT 6.0; U; en) Presto/2.10.289 Version/12.02

Steps to reproduce:

On upgrading to 16.0.1 emails fetched from Gmail are almost all truncated to 16.1 kb. Looking at orignial emails via a web browser shows emails not at fault.

Actual results:

As above.

Expected results:

Emails before 16.0.1 are not truncated
over imap or pop ?

Hello Ludovic,

Via IMAP mail server.

I have since reverted to version 15.0.1. New emails are not truncated. The old emails that had been truncated still remained truncated. Forwarding these emails from the browser view of my gmail account results in the new message being untruncated. I have not changed any settings.

Regards
Andreas
Can we get an imap log of the issue ? see https://wiki.mozilla.org/MailNews:Logging for documentation.

I have sent an imap log direct to Ludovic - did it arrive?

Does teh new release (16.0.2) still have the bug?

Nope It didn't. I didn't find it in my mailboxes - can you resend ?
The log we got was fine according to Atul, but was generated using 15.0.1. Email triggering this seem to be multi-part related - but can't confirm yet. I've asked Andreas to try to attach a faulty email for analysis here.
Since Andreas gave the IMAP Log for 15.0.1. Thus I was not able to find anything in the log. Andreas, can you send the faulty email log, using 16.0.1? That way it'll be helpful for us to diagnose the problem. :-)
Thanks.
Not tracking, as this isn't confirmed, nor do we have possible steps.

There may be confusion here. Reporter now indicates this is pop account ...

"When Thunderbird 16.0.2 came out I (accidentally) installed it, and it
still truncated many incoming emails, although not at 16kB length, but
about 24kB, if I remember right. I have a gmail account that
Thunderbird connects to via POP. As I don't have a separate test
system, the emails being unusable and for fear of corruption my message
database I reverted to 15.0.1 as soon as possible. Direct Internet
examination of my gmail account demonstrated that the messages were not
truncated and that only Thunderbird was truncating them."
