I'm having trouble reproducing this, Jesse. Do you still see it on nightly, and could you put up a testcase I can visit? Running it from localhost and modifying paths to point to valid files isn't showing me any assertion.

I did all my testing with the testcase as a local file. Sorry for being ambiguous.

WFM on trunk. Maybe it was fixed by bug 716140 along with bug 807211.
