BTW, can I have the log which turning on DEBUG=true in dom/system/gonk/NetworkManager.js and dom/system/gonk/net_worker.js beforehand ?
Chris - Is this feature worth fixing? Or do we just remove it?

I couldn't reproduce this issue. It works for me on unagi.
Vincent: This is still happening for me using the Unagi 10-25 build. When I get back to Mt. View I will get you the output you requested in Comment 2.
(In reply to Marcia Knous [:marcia] from comment #6) > Vincent: This is still happening for me using the Unagi 10-25 build. When I > get back to Mt. View I will get you the output you requested in Comment 2. Thanks. Before that, can you help me to check if 1. 3G data connection is established before turn on wifi hotspot. 2. if "make install-settingsdb" in gaia help to fix it. Wifi hotspot function needs to read some default value from settings.

This still happens for me on today's 10-29 build.
It's really weird. I also tried 10-29's nightly build. I downloaded the image from https://releases.mozilla.com/b2g/2012-10-29/unagi_2012-10-29.zip and use command "./flash.sh" to update unagi phone. My test procedure, 1. make sure 3G data connection is established.(Sometimes the data connection is not easy to be established in this build) 2. turn on Wifi hotspot. The default SSID is FirefoxHotSpot, security type is open. (It seems that security can't be modified, I have filed a gaia bug) 3. use the other smart phone to connect to FirefoxHotSpot.
Chris: Maybe you are I are hitting this issue since we having trouble getting the 3G connection with AT&T? I will have to try with TMobile card next.
Hi Marcia, does it work for you after trying with TMobile card ?

Vincent: Using a TMobile card I was able to get it to work using 2012-11-2 build. Resolving as WFM.
