User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:16.0) Gecko/20121011 SeaMonkey/2.13.1 Build ID: 20121011080919 Steps to reproduce: I open a video. I close the browser. I open the browser. (last visited tabs open on start) Actual results: Video starts to play even with plugins.click_to_play;true Expected results: With plugins.click_to_play;true video should not start to play without click, automaticly
Sorry, I forget: flash videos from youtube I did not try other formats
WMF on both 2.13 Release & on current Aurora. URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mvOiFmjExx4 Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:18.0) Gecko/18.0 Firefox/18.0 SeaMonkey/2.15a2 Build identifier: 20121018013005
tonda: What Flash version do you have installed (though I don't think this should matter)?
Quit possible you were seeing this Bug 659285, in which case this should be DUP'd to it. Bug 659285 - Extend media.autoplay.enabled to provide a way to disable untrusted play() invocations
That never worked for me. Until EN-US SeaMonkey 2.33.1 (German Language pack) Gecko/20100101 Build 20150321194901 (Classic Theme) on German WIN7 64bit YouTube flash Vidios always started automatically. No difference between opening video in new tab from link or in tab from last session, always auto-starts. Same in FF 39.0 Portable With 2.35 I use HTML5-player, same problem
(In reply to Rainer Bielefeld from comment #5) I should have told: both " plugins.click_to_play;true" But I have too few knowledge concerning that parameter, so I can not confirm this Bug. Addidionla info: a) Same when I launch SM in safe mode: Youtube video launched in new TAB will start to play automatically. @therube Any idea how to find out why that works for you and does not work for me?
Flags: needinfo?(therubex)
b) For me "media.autoplay.enabled:flase" from <https://support.mozilla.org/de/questions/1012943#answer-611047> does not work to prevent HTML5 player / YouTube to start playing automatically in SM or FF39 - might be a different bug.
HTML5 is a different animal. 2012 was a different animal. plugins.click_to_play is a different animal. plugin.state.flash is now what you should be looking at, & can be set from Addons Manager | Plugins -> Shockwave Flash => Ask to Activate. /Assuming/ you're being served Flash on Youtube, setting Flash, Ask to Activate should disable autoplay, until you click the placeholder.
Flags: needinfo?(therubex)

NPAPI plugins are no longer supported.
