Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Android; Tablet; rv:16.0) Gecko/16.0 Firefox/16.0
Build ID: 20121010142954
Steps to reproduce:
I tried to install reddit enhancement suite and readability add-ons.
Actual results:
I was informed that these add-ons are not compatible with Firefox 16.0.1, and yet these add-ons are compatible with the desktop version of Firefox 16.0.1.
Expected results:
I should have been informed that these add-ons are not compatible with Firefox for Android.

Neither addon claims to work with Firefox for Android. This is expected. The addon author would need to make the addon compatible with Firefox for Android.
Readablity is built into Firefox for Android 16. On any page that has a main article you should have a book icon in the address bar when the page has completed loading.

There might be technical reasons why the string does not include "<brand> for Android"
http://mxr.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/source/mobile/android/locales/en-US/chrome/browser.properties#42; which uses the local branding DTD for the application name
http://mxr.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/source/mobile/android/branding/official/locales/en-US/brand.dtd
I'll mark this as new, but it might be a won't-fix.

The problem is the error message gives incorrect information. The message is "not compatible with Firefox 16.0.1" which is an incorrect statement.

The application brand is really 'Firefox'. I don't think we want to change the branding to add 'for Android' but again, see my comment #2.

We have no plans to add "for Android" to the brand.
How did you did you get these add-ons? From addons.mozilla.org ?
The front page of the Firefox website says "Get Firefox for Android free!" and the bug report specifies "Firefox for Android." I imagine these are specified because it's important to specify that it's the version of Firefox compiled for Android. In this same sense, it's important to specify that the add-on is not compatible with the version of Firefox compiled for Android. The error is factually incorrect when it tells me that this add-on is incompatible with Firefox 16.0.1 when it really means that the add-on is incompatible with the Android version of Firefox 16.0.1.
Branding should not come at the cost of specificity.

I went to http://redditenhancementsuite.com/download-firefox.html and http://www.readability.com/apps to get the add-ons.
I just now went to addons.mozilla.org and searched for the reddit enhancement suite and it isn't listed.

Closing due to inactivity, with Firefox 57 the only valid extension types are WebExtensions.
