Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:16.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/16.0
Build ID: 20121010234852
Steps to reproduce:
The desktop version has an option (Options/Content) to not load images automatically.
I wanted to save 3g data using this option on Android.
Actual results:
The Android version is missing this option (http://android.stackexchange.com/questions/32088/firefox-for-android-blocking-images/32091), it is not even in about:config.
Expected results:
An option to not load images automatically should be added. Ideally, it would be one of the following:
* load all (default)
* load all when on wifi (not 3g)
* load from originating website (this is an about:config possibility in the desktop version)
* load none

Fennec (XUL) had a 'Show Images' toggle. I can't recall if images were downloaded prior to displaying them, or if this was just a content preference.

Looks like this was implemented in bug #1209293 over a year ago.
Currently, Firefox for Android lets you choose to load images:
- always
- only over Wi-Fi
- never
