804222 - I see an indicator that I have a new notification from facebook, but when I click the notifications nothing shows up

using Firefox nightly (from Oct 21, 2012), I turn on the social API for facebook and it works just fine.

next I restart the browser and it is turned off, so I turn it on again.  This time I don't click 'ok', just click the facebook toolbar buttons and it is all empty (assume it is loading).  Eventually I get a red number indicating I have a notification and when I click on it a drop down comes up and nothing is in the list.

There are two different issues here, I'd like to separate them and get more info.

first, when you restart social is no longer enabled.  Is that repeatable?  If so, what are the social prefs after restart?  Do you have the old social addon installed (this has been cause of some problems)?

second, no data in the status panels.  are the panels empty, or do they show some content but no entries that you expect?  Do they refresh after a few minutes?

I see "See all notifications" and nothing beneath it. It doesn't refresh.

I am unable to get it working again after trying to repeat this, I included that information so that it might help reproduce the problem.  As of now, I just can't use social.

no, I let this sit for 2 hours, and checked again.  No luck.  repeat, no luck.  I had people send me messages, chats and post on my wall which generated notifications from the facebook application which then made it to the social API toolbar buttons, but clicking the button dropped down an empty list.

That would be bug 804560, should be resolved soon

I haven't seen this issue in ages, if it is no longer a problem I'd like to close the bug.

honestly I don't even know how to turn this on anymore.  The joy of filing bugs and they come back 6 months later.  I will trust you guys have it fixed if you haven't seen it for a few months.

I saw this yesterday on a VM I restored from paused state on Windows. It's pretty intermittent though, I've seen it once in the last month or so. It usually resolves itself after a few minutes.
