I tried to report two crash bugs using talkback on 0.9 (Build 2001050515) and I've gotten no response from the host all day... I'm not behind any sort of proxy, so there's no problem with that... Just FYI... -jag
I don't see any problem with the server. Is this still happening now ? Have you ever able to submit crash from this machine or this is the first time ?
Hello - Well, here was the deal... I originally had N6... I upgraded to N6.1... I then upgraded to M0.81... and just this week I upgraded to M0.9... when I upgraded to M0.9 (using either the Zipfile or the Installer), when I'd open up a browser instance, they'd keep replicating and replicating ad infinitum until some part of the entire thing would crash... Talkback would then come up... I'd give it the information and it would simply sit there... if I tried to empty the queue, it'd tell me that the talkback server could not be reached and that I should check proxy server settings... except I have no proxy server... So if the server's up, the server's up... I just couldn't get to it... I have since uninstalled N6.1 and M0.9 and then reinstalled it... the browser instance replication stopped after I did all of that... but it also uninstalled Talkback, so those items are no longer trying to get sent... I'll keep y'all posted if you want to leave this open... if anything crashes, we'll see if the Talkback connection works... if it doesn't, I have no idea how you're going to troubleshoot it... -jag
Well, sure enough I just got a crash and talkback came up... I'm still getting the problem even right now... I get "The Agent is unable to connect to the server. Please check your proxy settings or try again later." -jag
check your proxy settings in the talback client. start up talkback its in your install..folder/components/talkback.exe then select settings | options and click on the proxy tab. You most likely have to set these by hand.... We have a few problems going though proxies. If this doesn't work then we might be stumped..
Hmm... I guess you missed the part where I said I'm not behind any sort of proxy... I have a direct connection to the Internet... -jag
The server has been nailed recently by the number of talkback reports we have been getting since 0.9 has been released. Should be back to normal soon.
