Details

--Basically you get a notification for every sms message you receive, regardless of whether that app is the currently running app. Then in order to clear the notification you have to click on it, even if you are already in the app / have already responded to the text message.

This happens generally when you are in conversation with someone. The notification decision needs to be smarter.

Blocking- because this mostly feels like polish and we have a "Clear All" button in the notifications pulldown window to work around this.

Unfortunately, this is not possible to be implemented with the APIs we have in V1. There is no way for an app to remove notifications from the bar, so SMS app cannot notify the notification bar when a message has been read.
Component: Gaia → Gaia::SMS
Moving to 'core' due to this is related with 'Notifications API'
Component: Gaia::SMS → DOM: Device Interfaces
Product: Boot2Gecko → Core
Summary: B2G [SMS] All Notifcations for a specific app are not cleared when you open one → B2G Notifications: All Notifications for a specific app are not cleared when you open one
Marking as dupe because we've started handling this with the email app.
