spun off the bug 637578 comment #20. It get rids the optimization we did in bug 637578. If this attribute is used by AT then it's not an optimization really, if not then the best optimization to not expose this attribute :)

note, disabled tests were reenabled (I don't see them failing, see bug 733848)
