I saw this today while running the 2012-10-28 build. In my case the first few apps I installed were fine, and then I hit a streak where every one seemed to install, but the apps did not show anywhere on the screen. Once the phone was rebooted I saw all the apps. I haven't seen the issue since I rebooted, but this is definitely not a good user experience.
