The piece of code <TD><IMG...></TD> (which is quite common on websites to
produce imagemap-like effects without using imagemaps) seems to cause the IMG to
gain a line-break on the end, when perhaps it should be treated as inline.

NS4 and IE certainly treat this type of IMG as an inline and omit the line-break.
Forgot to add, the effect is visible at the website in the URL.
Looking at the URL I assume this is a dupe of bug 22274, which is resolved
invalid. See that bug for explanation and workarounds.
