User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:16.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/16.0
Build ID: 20121024073032

Steps to reproduce:

After a search, Google, Yahoo, etc., if you select one result, you get redirected to Nixxie Answers or some other useless page. On second try, it works correctly. Tried uninstalling addons, reinstalling latest Firefox, etc., no change. Suspect some advertising malware, but it is using Firefox to work, so Firefox needs to fix it. Happened after I experimented with Sync, and all my entire address book got spammed.

Thanks!

That said, you can try removing it like so:
==============

1. Click the small search arrow or magnify glass near the search bar at the top of the internet browser.

2. Select Manage search engines…

3. Select Answers.Nixxie.com and click remove. Avantfind.com could be set as default or listed under Other search engines.

==============

If that doesn't help, or if the problem comes back, please ask for help at

This has nothing to do with a support issue. Nixxie nor Avant are in the search engine lists, and it is not when the search is done that the redirection happens. The issue is some sort of malware vulnerability. The only solution was to switch to Chrome.
