We would like Flash to run entirely in windowless mode, both on classic desktop and in metro. For this Adobe has expressed an interest in knowing if the windowless view they render to is visible (partially or fully) or fully obscured. 

This may already be possible through the DOM. If not, we need to provide this information in some way.

This has been a feature of NPAPI for a while now. When the plugin is not visible, we call NPP_SetWindow with a cliprect of 0,0,0,0. We even have automated tests for this ;-)

Bas, I presume that the new async drawing API doesn't change that behavior, right?
