User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.4 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/22.0.1229.94 Safari/537.4 Steps to reproduce: We recently updated Bugzilla to 4.2.3. From an older version. We are missing an behavior the old system had. Bug Editing: In previous versions of Bugzilla, if you added a private comment to a bug, then none of the changes that you made at that time were sent to users who couldn't see the private comment. Actual results: Now, for users who can't see private comments, public changes are sent, but the private comment is excluded from their email notification. Expected results: We still don’t want the users to receive any email regarding changes if the comment is set to private. How can we change the behavior? They are still allowed to see the changes in Bugzilla we just don’t want to send them an email when we use private comment. Otherwise is there any way to choose “do not send email to user” for this change(status change)?
Not sending emails at all when writing a private comment was a bug, not a feature. This bug has been fixed and now Bugzilla behaves as expected.
