Steps to reproduce:
Updated to 16.0.2
Actual results:
Noticed the update didn't check to see if the add-ons needed updated. Started being slow with sending/receiving but now it doesn't work at all!

What error message do you get when you try to send or when you try to receive ?
There are several experiencing this issue as posted on https://getsatisfaction.com/mozilla_messaging/topics.
When I clicked "Get Mail" it would hang a long time on connecting, never reaching the point of checking messages. The message would just go away and it wouldn't finish.
When I tried to send it would sit on connecting for several minutes and a STMP error message would pop up. Thunderbird started working again just after I logged the bug so I can't reproduce the error message at this time. Since then it's twice asked me to enter my password even though I check the box for it to remember it with Password Manager.

I'm no longer on a Mac so I don't use Thunderbird. The error didn't appear again before I switched over.
