With the following flash version installed, once I click in a Flash element and then click in the location bar, I cannot type. All keypresses are sent to the plugin object. For example, if I click on a YouTube video and then click in the location bar and press Space, the video will pause. Shockwave Flash File: NPSWF32_11_4_402_287.dll Version: 11.4.402.287 Shockwave Flash 11.4 r402 MIME Type Description Suffixes application/x-shockwave-flash Adobe Flash movie swf application/futuresplash FutureSplash movie spl The workaround that I have to do is to click on the Windows taskbar and then back into Firefox. Currently running mozregression to determine if this was a regression within Gecko or an issue with the new version of Flash (I suspect the latter).
My STR: 1. Go to http://www.reddit.com/r/videos/comments/12fbyr/illiterate_011/ 2. Play the video, making sure to click on the plugin object 3. Click on the location bar 4. Press Space 5. See that the video toggles between play/pause. mozregression pushlog: http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/pushloghtml?fromchange=964b118ac852&tochange=3eaa7d9f1c69 Nothing in the pushlog jumps out at me though. It has to be a combination with a patch that landed in that pushlog and the new version of Flash, since I definitely haven't been seeing this bug for that long.
The only candidates I see in there are: * bug 646038: URL destination flickers when the mouse pointer is over a link positioned at the bottom corner * Bug 704583 - Add testing mode to FocusManager to address running webdriver tests concurrently This is however very similar to older bugs where this happens with Acrobat. Does switching to another application and back to Firefox fix the focus?
Yeah, switching to another application and back fixes the problem. I'm suspect of that regression range though. I did a local hg bisect of that regression range last night and it narrowed it down to http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/3eaa7d9f1c69 which is a test-only fix and also at the end of the range. However, I did a second mozregression search to confirm that regression range before I posted comment #1.
User Agent Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:50.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/50.0 Build ID 20160713030216 I could not reproduce the issue on the latest Nightly version (50.0a1) using Shockwave Flash 188.8.131.52 so I'm closing the bug. If anyone can still reproduce the issue, please reopen it.
