Mac System: 10.6.8 Snow Leopard FireFox 16.0.2 Intro: I am having this issue happening for quite some time. While switching tabs triggers a 10 sec spin ball on the Mac. The sudden appearance of a spin ball on the mac has to do with hanging processors. So technically when I switch tabs, the processor hangs for 10 Secs. Verifying the behavior I realized that this only happens when I switch from some other tab to the Facebook tab. Question: My question towards this issue is: - What makes the processor hang for that 10 Sec period when I switch to Facebook. Thanks!
I can't test facebook or OSX but have you already tried: http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode ?
Dear Matthias, Thanks for the suggestion! I just tested in safe mode and indeed the same behavior did not occurred. I have 5 tabs opened and I can switch between them with no problem. So that leads me to think that the problem could be the bookmarks tool bar strip bellow the address field of the browser or otherwise some add-on that is interfering with it. Should I test all the add-on one at the time or there are some other way to find out who is the culprit?
The safemode does a little bit more than disabling tall addons. I would as first step disable all extensions and test again in the normal mode. Depending on the results enable half of the extensions and test again.
stopnoise, thanks for the update. If you narrowed the problem to firefox, and not an addon, please reopen the bug
