Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:19.0) Gecko/19.0 Firefox/19.0
Build ID: 20121102030726
Steps to reproduce:
I use Firefox and the Firefox beta versions with a lot of addons.
Actual results:
When I update a beta version, firefox will chek the compatibility of my addons. But when I go back to the release version (or from nightly to aurora or whatever), Firefox will check my addons again. That's really unnecessary.
Expected results:
Firefox should only check the compatibility after an update and only once per version. Firefox should notice when you updated firefox or if you just switch to another channel.
This would make the start much faster, if you use more than one version of firefox.

Checking compatibility checks in case of a downgrade makes sense. Remembering the check makes no sense since you could add a new addon with Firefox version A and this Addon is not compatible with version B

This is what is happening. When you switch to a different version Firefox checks compatibility and potentially warns you of any changes.

If you want each channel to keep the same settings then you should have a different profile for each channel.

based on previous comments this sounds like wontfix - i.e. working (well) as designed and not going to change
