Topic: The Future of the Firefox Build System Presenter: Gregory Szorc Date: 2012-11-29 Time: 12:00 UTC-8 Duration: 1 Hour Audience: Air Mozilla: Yes Dial-in: No Archive: No Member of IT to help with A/V: Yes Description: The build system for mozilla-central hasn't really changed much in 10 years. That's all about to change. In this talk I'll be covering all facets of the Firefox/mozilla-central build system with an emphasis on future direction. My primary goal is to disseminate knowledge about the various projects underway and to convince the audience why these (sometimes radical and controversial) changes are for the best. Topics covered will include: * mach * "mozbuild" files * non-recursive make * Visual Studio projects * Tup, Ninja, GYP and similar build tools * Python version compatibility * client.mk * mozconfigs If the talk itself doesn't answer your questions, there will be a question and answer session at the end.
Is someone supposed to confirm this event or something? I still don't see it on the public Air Mozilla calendar.
