Passing along this bug report from a friend: """ I guess they've updated Mozilla Thunderbird, and in this new version, they removed the individual search function for each folder. (I used to be able to be in a folder - like my Inbox, for example - and search by sender, or subject, etc.) Now, there is only one big, general search box at the top of the interface that doesn't offer specific "search by" options? And, when I search something, I get a big list of old messages in chronological order, that I have to click through manually - no sort options, etc. It is really irritating to use this, and I find myself actually just sorting the "from" column and finding things that way - not as efficient. If it's possible, PLEASE bring back the old individual search boxes with "search by" options! """ Happy to connect anyone to her if necessary. Thanks.
If you mean the quick filter bar, then it is still available. If it got hidden, try in the main menu -> View -> toolbars -> Quick filter bar. There should also be a toolbar button for toggling it.
Severity: minor → S4

Yes this is certainly available.
