Android Sync has always struggled to provide status / error information back to the user. An about:sync page is a great place to do this, and the right way to do this on Android is to communicate via a ContentProvider and observers. I would love to include status for maybe 3 or 5 recent syncs, and possibly (Telemetry) data for metrics. This could live in the Sync codebase or in the Fennec codebase.
