User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:16.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/16.0 Build ID: 20121024073032 Steps to reproduce: [happens on many websites] Ctrl+F to open Find box, enter string, type <enter>. As an example, http://www.target.com/s?searchTerm=clock+radio&category=0|All|matchallpartial|all+categories#navigation=true&viewType=medium&sortBy=PriceHigh&isleaf=false&RatingFacet=0 ...Find string: 'atomic' Actual results: Frequently, the Find text is not highlighted in the viewport, as it should be. I suspect that FF is finding matches in HTML that is not rendered. The Find box does NOT say, "reached end of page" at that point. Expected results: The Find function should highlight and display only actual, visible matches. Closest matching defect is https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=406642, but it is ancient and so AFAIK irrelevant. Thanks for your help.

when I search for text in a page, firefox takes me to next match even when I have scroll down. Idealy(like in safari browser), it should match the text from viewport(current page) to the end of the document.

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:25.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/25.0 (20130904004004) Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:26.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/26.0 (20130904030204) I've reproduce this bug on latest Aurora (and Nightly) while testing for the pre-beta sign-off of the Find Bar Redesign feature. Searching for "clock" on the link provided in Comment 0 also finds non visible results. I encounter the same behavior on latest Chrome. Does anyone has any thoughts/suggestions? Thank you

I can't access that link from Russia apparently... It returns "Access Denied". Here's working link:
When I try to search "atomic" by pressing Enter in Findbar, the very 1st match isn't highlighted. But if I focus the page instead and press (Shift+)F3, 1st match becomes visible (because it's focused). So that's the case. That element is invisible on the page unless it has :hover or :focus

Thank you for your efforts. Yes unfortunately this problem continues, not with all URLs but, of the pages where I find ctrl-F helpful, I estimate that 5-10% provoke this problem --- some of the string matches are shown in the viewport, but then others are hidden.
