I have some music files encoded using the Apple Lossless codec (ALAC) in an m4a container. We don't support playing those music files on B2G, but we might want to.

I am not sure we are supporting this format.
We need to bring this to the newsgroups. Adding support for new media formats to the web should be done with great care. We have a similar bug for AAC support.

Please renom if this is important to support.

What info is needed here?

Joe, if you think we should support ALAC, please post to dev.media and make a case for it.

I don't really care that much - I just wanted to file this because we don't currently support it.

If I can speak my mind, I think that ALAC should be supported.

Hello,
I'm new to Firefox OS, but I also think that this format should be supported, or at the very least the FLAC format.
FLAC and ALAC are the two most prefered formats for lossless conversion of audio.
