A couple of days ago I updated my trunk build, and Chatzilla and Tree Style Tabs stopped working. They both show up in about:addons, but otherwise it's as if they aren't installed. For example, Chatzilla's menu item is gone, as is the icon that I had in the toolbar.
In contrast, AdBlock Plus is still working, and I installed Vertical Tabs and it's working too.
I tried a different profile and the problem remained, so it doesn't appear to be profile-related.

Bisection tells me that this patch:
https://hg.mozilla.org/integration/mozilla-inbound/rev/b027df4ba1e8
from bug 282432 is the culprit.

I'm also wondering why this wasn't caught by automatic testing.

Oh, I just realized that Mass Password Reset is also affected -- its menu item isn't shown.

We might not have very good file:// URI test coverage.
O. Atsushi, can you look into this?

I don't think we can solve this bug that easily, without backing out bug 282432.
Well, the difference between ["Chatzilla", "Tree Style Tabs"] and ["AdBlock Plus", "Vertical Tabs"] seems whether or not they contain *.jar file. If the assumption is wrong, I have no idea where to start then. Anyway, I'll look into it.

I could install/use Chatzilla just fine on my Linux machine. So, first, we need to reproduce the problem somehow.

And "Tree Style Tabs" also works fine for me on both nightly and my own debug build.

I just tried a fresh checkout of mozilla-inbound and now it's working. So there must have been something screwy about the clone I was working with. Sorry for the noise!
