User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:16.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/16.0 Build ID: 20121025212310 Steps to reproduce: while browsing on Wikipedia, I opened this URL: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/e2/Animation_of_the_planetary_system_around_Sun-like_star_HD_10180.ogv Actual results: Firefox was like frozen. When clicking on another tab, Firefox responded more than 5 or 10 seconds after. I have i7 Ivy-Bridge + 8 Go RAM + SSD and just running Firefox using about 6 tabs. Expected results: Firefox should buffer the beginning of the OGV file without freezing.
Summary: Firefox frozen (or very slow) while accessing a 13MB OGV video → Firefox frozen (or very slow) while accessing a 21MB OGV video
Summary: Firefox frozen (or very slow) while accessing a 21MB OGV video → Firefox frozen (or very slow) while accessing a 22MB OGV video
After rebooting twice the browser and restoring the previous tabs, I spent some time on my GMail tab. I also disabled NoScript addon. After about 5 minutes, I went back to the OGV tab, and the firefox played correctly the video. However, I press the download button and this download started only when I closed the OGV tab. To download the video I did on my French menu: Outils -> Informations sur la page -> Médias -> Enregistrer sous... I try to guess the English version: Tools -> Information on the page -> Medias -> Save as... Bad things to improve: 1. the OGV file was not on cache 2. the save as did not reused the playing OGV file, but re-downloaded it again 3. the OGV download should start immediately and should not wait for tab close Cheers Oliver
