Description

Firefox 17 will not be a silent update and whill have a /whatsnew/ page displayed to promote the SocialAPI/Facebook messages feature integrated in the browser.

We don't have the page created yet but it will be very similar to the current whatsnew page. We will also have promotional messages on the about:home page for this feature, those strings are in snippets.lang.

As the page is not created yet, we don't have it on a staging server, but it will be at this address at some point:

The Creative team sent me the strings needed and I updated the files in your svn repo (whatsnew.lang and snippets.lang).

If you never translated that file, that's about 30 strings, otherwise it's just a dozen strings.

If you have already translated your files since you saw them on your webdashboard (http://l10n.mozilla-community.org/webdashboard/?locale=it), please wait for the page to be set up by the webdev team to make sure we have all the strings working and that the page displays correctly for your locale.

As usual, please send your translation to the svn repository for your locale (http://svn.mozilla.org/projects/mozilla.com/trunk/locales/it) or attach your updated file to this bug and I will put them on the server for you.

I have translated the strings yesterday (I have checked the RSS for the locale to see if State of Mozilla was complete) plus another string today.
When the test page will be available I'll check how it works.

I view an english string (I don't find it in lang files) “Get Firefox News” and if I click on “Caratteristiche (Features) I see all in english.

(use a browser >=17 to see the page, like Aurora/Beta/Nightly) or you will de redirected.

The "Get Firefox News" is new but will only be activated on production for locales that translated the monthly newsletter. I will add strings to newsletter.lang for that soon (probably Wedenesday/Thursday, after Firefox 17 is released).

Also, in the end the snippets will be used for Fx17 launch but the whatsnew page will be probably used for Fx18.
