Gregory has modified hg-git in order to make it an order of magnitude faster. His work is on this branch: https://github.com/indygreg/hg-git/tree/performance-master. I've been running his branch on my mirror for a few months now without any problems, and I think RelEng should switch to using it as well. This will make the gexport phase of the conversion a lot faster.

Many of my performance improvements landed upstream. Facebook has also made considerable improvements to hg-git performance over the past few years. My old branch is no longer necessary.
