On Windows, where we utilize the Firefox toast notifications mechanism, I get a flurry of toast notifications when I first start up Firefox. I restarted twice today and both times I got an overlapping stack of two or three toasts that kind of jankily slid up from my taskbar. The Firefox notification mechanism doesn't yet handle stacking notifications properly and so we need to minimize the cases where multiple notifications happen at once. On Firefox launch, there seems to often be a "backlog" of a few notifications that all pop up together. Can Facebook adjust this so that no toasts happen right on social startup/activation? Notifications are nice for when I'm in a different Window but there's almost no chance that they're useful stacked up and on startup while all the Facebook sidebar and toolbar content is loading in.
SocialAPI was removed from Firefox 57 and is no longer available in any current release.
