Details
We'll start by associating bugs to devices, using Bugzilla aliases with a cache in the Mozpool DB (and maybe also cached in inventory?).
Initially, human actions taken in the UI will get posted to the bug, with a human-entered description. As Mozpool gets more reliable (and the likelihood of 800 bogus automated bug updates decreases), we may have it make updates in other situations.
The benefit is that device status is logged permanently in a place where everyone at Mozilla can find it. DCops can enter information easily, releng can track the status of devices, and sheriffs can correlate device behavior with test results.
Mark, is it ok if I borrow a bit of time with :glob or :dkl early next week to talk about how best to do this?

This is looking like an increasingly unnecessary idea. We can re-open if we want to revisit.
